I've known for awhile that I was behind on posts. I was trying to stick to an approximate chronological order and now things have piled up so much that trying to remember details from a trip I took over a month ago just isn't going to fly too well. Instead, I'll just have to leave people with a general overview of these last months.
Spring Break happened back in March and I had about 1 1/2 weeks off of work. It was a time of rest that I really needed; work was wearing me out and my pregnancy wasn't helping matters. I was able to get all the work I needed to done before the holiday proper began and was able to not think about work for virtually my whole time away. It was delightful.
Our plan had been for us to spend Easter with the Ens family in Tsawwassen and I took advantage of the extra time and Jonas and I drove down a day or 2 in advance. We were able to meet up with Brittany and Angus who had just returned from Australia a few weeks previously. Logan, my younger sister, was also able to take some time out of her school schedule and us girls were able to have an afternoon of shopping and an evening of just hanging out. The next day I headed in to Vancouver and met up with my friend Dani from our SFU days and got to meet her new babe, Oliver. Jonas and I also killed some time at Queen Elizabeth Park where Jonas thoroughly enjoyed watching the ducks in the pond. Dinner was spent with old university roommates (lovely meal Bri!) and then we had to whisk ourselves away to Tsawwassen and got Jonas to bed not too far past his regular bedtime. I then picked up Chris from the bus depot and the rest of our family time went from there.
Much of the Easter weekend was a blur for me - I slept a ridiculous amount - naps galore! We did make it out to both the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services at Chris's old church though. Jonas got out to the park and had plenty of play time with Grandma and Grandpa and by the end of the weekend we could discern a difference between his pronunciation of the 2 names, though I still wasn't sure which was which! Chris's brother, Dustin, was able to spend lots of time with us which was great as he'll be in the Philippines for the next year. Chris's sister and brother-in-law, April and Jordan, were able to come over for Sunday and we all enjoyed our Easter dinner and chocolate bunnies!
Monday we headed home and I had one more day of rest before I returned to work. More about our Miller visitors later.
p.s. - thanks to Ross for all these photos. I've been woefully lax in the picture department these days!
